Day 111: Crazy...

What a crazy night. The day started with a cruisey 80 for lunch. I came back from my break realizing we were out of rocket which is in a lot of our dishes, as well as blue cheese and white wine vinegar. After a rushed trip to Acland Street Woolworths and buying all the rocket they had on hand and some other supplies I got back in time to find out our final booking was 150.

The night started very slow, getting nervous we all came to the realization we would get slammed. By 8PM 90% of the tables were seated and hell began. The mad rush of 150 people ordering entrĂ©e’s mains and desserts came.

The night was a success the Sous Chef in charge came and congratulated all of us for doing a beautiful service. After a rush like that we all decided to go for after work drinks and relax before another draining Sunday lunch.

  1. hi again,

can i ask how much it costs for you to attend sofitel? With Brumby's reforms, i am going to be slugged with a huge amount in fees (degree+ over 21). Ironically, there is nothing on the Angliss website that tells you exactly how much it costs to do commercial cookery Cert 3, nor even an indication. All the bsing around is really making me angry.

also, i cant find anything on the sofitel website.

    :(

  2. Hello E

Its between 800-900ish but then you have to buy knives (how ever much you want to spend) and the books ($160)

As a apprentice we get the tools for your trade bonus which is $800 at the 3 month, 1 year and 3 year mark. as well as some other smaller ones in between. so the government is pretty helpful with it.

Sofitel is a collaboration between the Accor Hotel Group and Victoria Uni, So it counts as Tafe which means you can get concession as well so the fees are lowered. so it doesn't really cost you anything. just the hard work you have to put in.
